Why It's Special
The Takin is found nowhere else in the world in this form and is deeply tied to Bhutanese mythology.
According to legend, the Takin was created by Divine Madman Drukpa Kunley, who joined the head of a goat with the body of a cow.
The preserve is designed to allow Takins to roam in a semi-wild, natural environment, unlike typical zoos.
